Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware

The Pegasus software is a spyware developed by the Israeli company NSO group and is allegedly sold (exclusively) to governments, according to the company. Pegasus is used to infiltrate a target’s mobile phone and it can switch on a camera and microphone, as well as access all data on the device. All the data can be downloaded from the mobile device, and it can be turned into a real time surveillance tool. The spyware can be installed without the knowledge of the user and without any action by them.
